Seoul Subway’s “Happy Box” Locker Guide

Need a place to stash your bags while exploring Seoul?
The “Happy Box” lockers in subway stations make it super easy. Available on lines 1 to 8, they come in 3 sizes and are perfect for travelers who want to travel light. Just remember the password and you’re good to go!

If you’re in Seoul and carrying heavy bags, no worries—Seoul’s subway stations have your back. Meet the Happy Box, a super convenient luggage storage locker system found in most stations on lines 1 through 8.

There are three locker sizes: small, medium, and large. The price depends on the size and time. The base rate is for 4 hours, and after that, a small fee is added every hour. As of June 2025, weekday prices for the first 4 hours are:

  • Small: 2,200–3,100 KRW
  • Medium: 3,300–4,600 KRW
  • Large: 4,400–6,100 KRW

(Weekend prices may vary slightly.)
You can store your luggage for up to 11 days, but make sure to pick it up before midnight, since lockers are only accessible from 5 AM to midnight.

How to Use It (It’s Easy!)

  1. Tap the English button.
  2. Choose a locker number.
  3. Enter a password.
  4. Put your stuff inside and pay.
  5. Done! Just remember your password—write it down if needed. You’ll need it to get your things back.

⚠️ What Not to Store:

  • Food
  • Valuables
  • Plants or animals

If your stuff is left for over 5 days, it gets moved to another place and you’ll need to call their support center at 1670-4302 (open daily from 6 AM to midnight).
